  • We were founded by Joshuanette Francis, a woman who has faced discrimination and overcome it as a person living and thriving with a disability. Her drive to eradicate that discrimination and to sensitize the nation by touching one life at a time is infectious; and thus became the beating heart of Good Humans 268.

The Antigua and Barbuda Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination for persons with disabilities across a number of areas and instills a sense of responsibility for persons with disabilities throughout our island community.
  • Being disabled is an inclusive concept referring to anyone with a physical or mental condition or impediment; which affects free movement, perception and completing activities.

Good Humans 268 Inc is for everyone. Our motto is ‘Essential for some, good for ALL’. Our actions support inclusion and recognize the plight of persons living with a disability and traversing a society riddled with the impacts of climate change.  As persons are equipped and empowered our community becomes more productive and the benefits transcend all boundaries. So there is no segregation. Everyone must respond to climate change and everyone is a part of the global conversation of supporting persons with disabilities.

“People with disabilities may be more vulnerable to climate change than the general population.” (United States Environmental Protection Agency, 2022)

A project is a temporary endeavor with a specific goal or objective. It typically has a defined beginning and end, a set budget, and allocated resources.

  •  Recycling

The project aims to address various sustainable development goals by engaging students and creating employment opportunities for Individuals living with disabilities. Students make up over 10% of the island’s overall population and engaging then in such a critical initiative can assist with mitigating the effects of plastic and aluminum pollution. To combat this global problem, we have designed a youth environment stewardship program. Recycling bins will be placed on the schools’ compound and students will be encouraged to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum can.

    •       Nursery

The first home for the trees that students will plant will be cared for in the nursery. The nursery will provide employment and training opportunities in food security for individuals with disabilities. Partnerships will be forged with communities and civil societies in all communities (a school is based within each community on the island) where the trees will be planted. A hands-on approach with the nation’s youths will effectively educate them about food security, backyard gardening, climate action and equality.

    •       Pantry

We posit that a healthy breakfast is one of the key necessities for students to thrive academically. Underprivileged students, differently abled students, and students with general socio-economic as well as physical challenges are especially at risk. Our plan is to redirect income from recycling and Good Humans 268 products, to augment already existing efforts to aid these students across the island in reaching their full potential.

A project manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the project. They manage resources, risks, and ensure the project meets its objectives.

Grants and Sponsorships: our projects are funded through grants and sponsorships from government agencies, foundations, or corporate partners.
